Franklin Mint Masterpieces of Impressionism Medals
Rarity Guide
Comments
This set was actually designed and minted by Le Medaillier S.A. of Paris, the Franklin Mint's affiliate in France. This set was created for the 100th Anniversary of the first Impressionist Art exhibition, and honors the 50 greatest works of Impressionist Art. Artists include Renoir, Cezanne, Monet, Degas, van Gogh, and others. Extremely rare set.
Note: The Krause Franklin Mint Guidebook states that these medals weigh 600 grains each, but in the sets I have seen the medals are 500 grains each, so I am assuming that the Guidebook is incorrect in this instance and the correct weight is 500 grains each.
